What is International Lead Auditor?
In order for a certification body to issue ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001, or ISO 45001 certificates by evaluating an organization's quality, environmental, food safety, information security, or occupational health and safety management systems, it requires qualified personnel capable of auditing the organization's management systems according to established criteria through direct site visits. These individuals are called auditors. To become a management system auditor, one must meet specific qualifications and competency requirements as defined by international standards.
Initially, to become an ISO auditor, individuals must complete ISO auditor training and pass a written examination to obtain the provisional auditor qualification. The basic qualification requirements for an International Lead Auditor and validation auditors include demonstrating appropriate education, practical experience, audit experience, advisory experience, and technical expertise.
To become a management system auditor, one must follow the guidelines of the international standard 'ISO 19011', which specifies the qualification criteria and competency requirements for management system auditors.
